Sinopsis: Razprava poveže hister razvoj literarne proze v drugi polovici 19. stoletja s sočasnim natajanjem omrežja medijev: založb, časopisov in literarnih revij. Šele mediji so omogočili zadostne strukturne možnosti objavljanja in delovanja v različnih vlogah literarnega sistema. Razvoj je prikazan ob primeru enega vodilnih pripovednikov tega obdobja, Josipa Jurčiča.

Ivan Cankar in krščanstvo / Ivan Cankar and Christianity

Abstract: The author discusses Cankarʹs world view, paying special attention to his relationship with Christianity. The realtionship represents the essential ingredient of Cankar's world view and is displayed from his youth to the final period of his life. It is the deepest expression of the author's peronality, particularly of his exceptional ethnical sensibility. The idea of Christianity from the affirmative or negative perspective is thus organically combines with the topics of his work that have personal foundation, i.e, the image of his mother, the topic longing, and social-critical analysis of the society. The author of the article consistently takes into account the chronolgy of Cankar's view's, their dinamics, interconnectedness, and complexity, trends in the development of his often opposite and controversial views, which are eventually toned down and summed up as basic values.

Sinopsis: Požig Narodnega doma v Trstu (13. julija 1920) so v literaturi značilno oblikovali trije slovenski avtorji: Srečko Kosovel, Boris Pahor in Alojz Rebula. Ta pomembna tema iz zgodovine Trsta je šla skozi tri stilne formacije novejše slovenske književnosti: skozi ekspresionizem, novi realizem in sodobno esejizirano propoved, seveda v vsakem od reh primerov še z drugimi odtenki osebne stilizacije.

Kratka pripovedna proza v triletju avantgardnih poskusov 1922–1924 / Short Narrative Prose in the Three-Year Period of Avant-Garde Experiments between 1922 and 1924

Ključne besede: slovenska književnost | ekspresionizem | kratka proza | kratka pripovedna proza | modeli | avantgarda | Rdeči pilot | Trije labodi | 20. st. | Slovene literature | expressionism | avant-garde | short narrative | models of short narrative prose | 20th century

Sinopsis: Sestavek obravnava kratko pripovedno prozo v letih avantgardnih poskusov 1922-1924. V središču pozornosti so Anton Podbevšek s svojima avantgardnima revijama Trije labodi in Rdeči pilot (1922) in sodelavci, ki so jih v njih objavili nekaj kratkih pripovedi.

Abstract: The article discusses short narrative prose in the zears of avant-garde experiments, i.e., the period of 1922-1924. The focus of the study are Anton Podbevšek with his avant-garde journals Trije labodi and Rdeči pilot (1922) and his collaborators, who published several short narratives in them. The avant-garde short fiction was untraditional with expressionist elements, but narratively it was not suggestive enough to have had strong impact on further development of this prose. In the same period, short narratives were published by Slavko Grum, Miran Jarc, Ivan Mrak, etc., who did not belong to Podbevšek's avant-garde circle.

Abstract: The article focusses on three aspects of Slavko Grum's play Dogodek v mestu Gogi that have not received the ultimate explanation, i.e., the issue of stage conception, the issue when Grum began working on the drama, and the issue where the title and, particularly, the imaginary place Goga originate.

Pogled na romana Izgubljeni sveženj (2002) Rudija Šelige in Nokturno za Primorsko (2004) Alojza Rebule / A Look at the Novels Izgubljeni sveženj (2002) by Rudi Šeligo and Nokturno za Primorsko (2004) a href="

Abstract: Izgubljeni sveženj by Rudi Šeligo is a novel about a small ego and a large Egoand utopias, ideologies, promising to change the individual and the society. The protagonist of the novel, Tomaž Lakner, is living out the role of the small ego, which in the twentieth century still takes place in the spirit of the Biblical ethical formula, i.e., "the world as a whole is clearly divided into Good and Evil." Man/the little ego is divided the same way, says the epilogue of the novel, which could have also been its prologue or theological-philosophical intorduction. It says that Good/light was created by god, while Evil was created by demons. - The protagonist of the novel Nokturno za Primorsko (2004) is a national minded Slovene priest Florijan Burnik. He serves as a priest in the Littoral during the years of Iralian Fascist national oppression, German occupation, and Partisan resistance. He resists the Church's conformity in Italianizing Slovenes, bur he also has reservations about the supporters of the Liberation Front and the participants in the Partisan movement. He refuses the invitaion to the convention of Slovene national delegats besause he does not want to be a politician. Instead, he would go to an ecclesiastic 'holy" gathering.

Odsevi ljudske balade v zbirki Labrador Kajetana Koviča / The Refl ections of the Folk Ballad in Kajetan Kovič’s Collection of Poems Labrador

Abstract: Slovene folk poetry and Kajetan Kovič's poetry seem to be far apart, considering the differences in their intellectual-historical contexts and creative principles of different poetics, and also the fact that one cannot find quotations and stylization of folk poetry in Kovič's poetry, unlike in the poetry of some of his contemporaries. Nevertheless, in Kovič's collection Labrador one can detect some references to folk poetry. The article examines closely the ballad of the cycles Bezgove ure, Pastorale, and Balade o sestri in bratu and their possible overlap with the folk ballad and folk poetics in general

Sinopsis: Prva različica razprave je nastala za ameriški enciklopedični priročnik Dictionary of Literary Biography, South Slavic Writers, ki v uredništvu Vase D. Mihailovicha izhaja na University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prispevek predstavlja življenje in ustvarjanje najbolj znane sodobne slovenske avtorice.

Abstract: The first version of this article was written for the American encyclopedic reference work Dictionary of Literary Biography, South Slavic Writers, edited by Vas D. Mihailovich and published by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The article outlines the life and work of the most prominent Slovene female author. Temporally and developmnetally it follows the poetess' original volumes of poems in which she formulated her distinctive poetics, first in the dialogue with the contemporary existentialist poety, then as creative transformation of the folklore tradition. It also surveys her popular and children's literature, which received multiple awards.

Ključne besede: slovenska knjiženost | slovenska poezija | ljubezenska poezija | literarna tradicija | mit o Tristanu in Izoldi | tematologija | ljubezen | Slovene literature | Slovene poetry | love poetry | literary tradition | myth of Tristan and Isolde | love

Abstract: The article deals with the topis of love in the poetry of two contemporary Slovene poets, Milan Jeaih and Boris A. Novak, by examining the connection between their work and the European literary tradition. Literary criticism did not develop a genre definition on the basis of countless poems about love, which would standardize various hostorical views of love and precisely define the content of love poetry. As a point departure for the treatment of the two poets, the first part of the article presents Rougemont's concept of passionate love, derived from the myth of Tristan and Isolde.

Meta-romantika kot paradigma sodobne slovenske drame / Meta-Romanticism as a Paradigm of Contemporary Slovene Drama

Abstract: After postmodernism the contemporary Slovenian drama has been turning towards traditionian, but taking it into consideration in a new and fresh manner. On the one hand it has returned to dramatic genres and on the other it again understands the protagonists as uniform subjects. Z. Hočevar's 'M te ubu! [I will kill ya!] serves as the paradigm for the analysis, as it includes innovatios both in terms of form and content, which are then combined. New artistic endeavours hold a mirror to contemporary man, in which s/he can see his/her whole image. On the basis of this, the term metha-romanticism has been suggested to desciribe the new direction of Slovenian drama.

Utopija prehojene poti (Gradbena jama in Morje mladosti Andreja Platonova) / The Utopia of the Path Travelled (The Foundation Pit and The Sea of Youth by Andrei Platonov)

Ključne besede: ruska književnost | ruska sovjetska književnoat | rusko ljudsko izročilo | ruska filozofska misel | povest | filozofija | Kotlovan | Gradbena jama | Juvenilʹnoe more | Morje mladosti | utopija | Russian literature | short story | Russian folk tradition | Russian philosophical thought | utopia | The Foundation Pit | Kotlovan | The Sea of Youth | Juvenilʹnoe more

Abstract: The short story The Foundation Pit (Kotlovan, 1930) is one of Andrei Platonov's most characteristic works. The study points out the individuality of his ambivalent poetics, which on the one hand renders the events during the Soviet first five-year period in the language of the time and space that it describes, and on the other hand it refers to the original Russian philosophical thought, to the literary tradition of the utopic genre and to the themes and motifs of folk tradition. The short story The Sea of Youth (Juvenilʹnoe more, 1934) in Platonov's prose figures as the last attempt at a synthesis between his own unique poetics and "societ directive" typical of the literary life in Russia of the time.

Literacki obraz świata: polisemiczność reprezentacji / Literary Image of the World: Polysemy of Representation

Abstract: Non-literary reality is never directly present in literature except in verbal texts taken from it. It materializes as an illusion, image, testimony, and presentation. The most creative for of mental representation is a presentation that allows a literary Work to oscilate between illusion and testimony, "pretense ad reference". Among the rhetoric forms of literary representations, methaphor and ficton most profoundly mirror the cultural changes that took place in the 20th cnetury.

Ključne besede: filozofija | filozofija zgodovine | metafizika | utopija | antropologija politike | etika | philosophy | philosophy of history | metaphysics | utopia | anthropology of politics | ethics

Abstract: The article discusses some viewpoints of the contemporary German philosopher Peter Sloterdijk, particularly the ones related to the stagnation of theory after the end of the student movement. The uneasiness of culture in the post-modern era is related to the growing level of cynicism and the proclivity for nihilism. According to Sloterdijk, this ia s consequence of the overly emphasized historicism that had developed in the 19th century. The theory became depressing and melancolic after the permanent werainess of life had se in; Nietzsche had been compelled to point out the harmful effect of history on life. With the help of ancient Greek models Sloterdijk attempts to make the theory aware that it must be well-intentioned and cultivate the sense of happiness. Ancient theory creates serenity, while modern theory creates confusion and insanity. After the symbolic year 1989, when it became increasingly evident how the idea of world history had been exhausted, he first attempted to dispute the political addiction of his ear with the life itself. The authenticity of life is what is in question, which is, according to Sloterdijk's political anthropology, lacking in politics, i.e., life has been robbed of all its spontaneity.
